Air France Expands Phoenix-Paris Service with Increased Frequency and Larger Aircraft

DALLAS — Air France has announced plans to boost its Phoenix-Paris route, increasing the frequency of flights to five times a week beginning May 5, 2025.

This move reflects the airline’s success with its existing nonstop service, which was launched in May 2024, marking the first direct connection between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and Paris’ Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG).

The expanded service will be operated using Air France’s Airbus A350-900, a wide-body aircraft configured with three classes: 34 Business seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 266 seats in Economy, bringing the total capacity to 324 seats per flight.

The A350-900 will replace the current Boeing 777-200, which had been serving the route with a seating capacity of 328 for the winter season.

The new flight schedule will see departures from CDG at 10:45 a.m., arriving at PHX at 12:50 p.m. local time.

The return flight will depart Phoenix at 3:05 p.m., arriving at Paris the next day at 10:10 a.m. The increased frequency will provide passengers with more flexibility in planning their travel to and from both cities.

The launch of nonstop flights between Phoenix and Paris last year was met with strong demand, prompting the airline to respond with expanded capacity.

Initially served three times a week by a Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner, the route saw immediate success, leading to an increase in aircraft size to the Boeing 777-200 for the winter season.

The route’s popularity and Air France’s confidence in the Phoenix market have now led to an even greater expansion with the A350-900.

City of Phoenix Aviation Director, Chad Makovsky, expressed his satisfaction with the growth of the Phoenix-Paris service.

“Within one year since the launch of their Paris service, Air France will have almost doubled the capacity on the Phoenix-Paris route. The airline has been a fantastic addition to our airport, and we are grateful for their confidence and investment in our market,” Makovsky said.

He further emphasized that the increased service would not only provide more options for travelers to France but also to the other 190 destinations that Air France serves beyond Paris.

“This increase means our passengers will have more options and competitive fares to not only fly to France but to other parts of Europe and beyond,” he added.

Air France-KLM Vice President of Commercial, North America, Boaz Hulsman, also shared his excitement for the expansion. “Air France is very pleased with the Phoenix-Paris route and we are excited to increase the frequency,” Hulsman stated.

“This capacity increase symbolizes our commitment to enhancing the transatlantic travel connection. We look forward to soon providing more passengers from Phoenix with an experience embodying the best of French elegance.”

With this expansion, Air France continues to strengthen its presence in the U.S. market, reaffirming its commitment to providing high-quality service and increasing connectivity between North America and Europe.

The airline’s growing network promises to benefit both business and leisure travelers alike, offering seamless connections to destinations throughout the continent and beyond.

Travelers can look forward to more options and competitive fares, ensuring that the Phoenix-Paris route remains a significant addition to Air France’s transatlantic offerings.
