Consulate General of Belgium hosts German Speaking Programme in Atlanta

The Consulate General of Belgium in Atlanta was honoured to host a German-speaking programme in Atlanta. The Ambassador of Belgium to the USA, Jean-Arthur Regibeau, also came together to host the week of German Languages.

During the week, A large crowd enjoyed the sparkling exchange of ideas on geopolitics and tech cooperation with the Swiss Ambassador Pitteloud, moderated by Rickey Bevington from the World Affairs Council in Atlanta and many representatives of the University System of Georgia.

The local tech schools were also present to attend a seminar on the job market and apprenticeship at the Atlanta Metro Chamber.

Ambassador Regibeau gave master classes to (or instead engaged in debates with) sharp students from Nunn School of International Affairs and Emory University and went to a school for a student-led interview.

He discussed industrial policies with representatives of the big business community from Belgium here in the State of Georgia.

The discussion was highly Interesting at the residence with academics, journalists and NGO representatives on extremism and political violence. It was a visit to the Carter Center to get the latest on their democracy programs, some of which Belgium supports.

The Ambassador stayed part of the weekend to climb the Big and Little Kennesaw and marvel at the fall foliage before departing back to DC.

The Consulate General of Atlanta thanked Ambassador Regibeau for visiting Atlanta and participating in the hosted week of German Languages.

They extended pleasure and thanked the Consulate General of Switzerland in Atlanta, the Embassy of Austria, Washington DC, the German Consulate General in Atlanta, Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta, and the Embassy of Belgium in the United States of America.

The Week of German-Speaking Countries in Atlanta was great fun: Der Markt, Fussball Bundesliga, Schlagerparty, car show, concert, panel discussions, movie night and more in language, culture and business.
