Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire extended his pleasure to attend the Saint Lucia Showcase 2023 event in London on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. He emphasised the vision to boost tourism and ensure the nation’s sustainability and shared some event updates.
As per the Update, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, marked the ending of the Saint Lucia Showcase 2023 event. The Saint Lucia Showcase 2023 included two main events, hosting a lunch for the travel media and content creators.
During the event, more than 25 media persons got updates on Development in Saint Lucia and an opportunity to engage with officials on issues there. In the evening, over 70 travel agents received presentations from several travel partners from Saint Lucia on their product offerings.
Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire, while sharing updates and extending his pleasure from the event, said, “It feels like summer is coming to an end, and it is time to book that Saint Lucian vacation! There was a slight chill over London this morning. Yesterday was another successful day of Showcase 2023.”
Deputy PM Ernest and other officials from Saint Lucia, were joined by Export Saint Lucia under the Brand Saint Lucia initiative to share with agents and other travel industry representatives the efforts and offerings of Export Saint Lucia.
They also met with the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) between the meetings. This trade association is for UK travel agents, tour operators and the wider travel industry over 70 years old.
Deputy PM Ernest also had the opportunity to discuss several issues. Their discussions were based on many issues, including sustainability policies and plans.
In Conclusion, he emphasised their commitment to reorienting the tourism industry to ensure social, cultural, economic and environmental sustainability.
“This commitment is rooted in our belief that the tourism industry can only survive if it is sustainable. Another exciting day looms ahead,” the Deputy PM added.
