Dominica: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy’s Emergency Agricultural and Climate Resilience Project (EALCRP) has commenced Contract signing for livestock farmers from six agricultural regions in Dominica.
The government of Dominica recently shared about the Contract by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy’s Emergency Agricultural mad Climate Resilience Project (EALCRP) commenced in Dominica. This project has been signed for livestock farmers from six agricultural regions in Dominica. As per the sources, The Contract signed by the EALCRP is being undertaken at the DAPEX Warehouse Facility in Fond Cole from 9.00 am-2.00 pm on designated days and times.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy’s Emergency Agricultural mad Climate Resilience Project or EALCRP was implemented in Dominica on September 18, 2017, as a part of an overall development initiative for the agro-based communities of Dominica to support medium and long-term recovery. The EALCRP implemented this action plan in Dominica in 2017, which aimed to contribute directly to the country’s National Agricultural Policy and action plan of 2016-2025 to develop the agriculture Sector of Dominica.
The Contract, which is commenced to sign by the EALCRP for the livestock of farmers in Dominica, includes the following transformations and advancements that will be made. These transformations and improvements include, The farmers will receive materials based on their assessed values and production levels before the destruction caused by Hurricane Maria for the commencement of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of their animal housing structures.
The Beneficiary packages range from EC$1,000 to a maximum of $50,000, with the total amounts allocated to this component, including for the Northeast Agricultural Region, above EC$ 6 million. Along with that, the Livestock farmers previously approved will now enter into these agreements to receive materials and supplies by the end of May 2023 for the rapid commencement of works towards the complete rehabilitation of structures.
