Georgia PM Garibashvili tests positive for Omicron variant, condition normal

On late Monday, January 31, 2022, the administration of Georgia has announced that the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili had been exposed to the Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus.

As per the reports, the administration asserted that Prime Minister Garibashvili is out of danger and also feels well, and they are working remotely”.

Further, the statement of the administration also mentioned that Prime Minister is fully vaccinated against the infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2. It further noted that when the mandatory test was conducted, the Prime Minister of Georgia also has tested positive for the deadly viral infection named novel coronavirus.

Earlier, in April last year, the PM of Georgia has also confirmed the COVID-19 virus as he tested positive for it.

Moreover, On December 4, 2021, the state Public Health officials have confirmed the first case of the Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus as one Georgia resident has tested positive for the viral infection caused by the Omicron variant.

As per the status of COVID-19, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, a total of 24,201 people have been exposed to the novel coronavirus in Georgia over the past 24 hours.

On the other hand, a total of 10,732 patients have been recovered from the deadly viral infection, and 36 people have lost their lives due to the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours.

Moreover, due to the emergence of the new cases, the positivity rate of the COVID-19 infection stood at 21.96 percent over the past 14 days.

Moreover, the active cases of the COVID-19 virus have remained at 164,572 in the country.

On the other, a total of 85,191 samples have been processed across the country over the past 24 hours.

Furthermore, the Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus is surging day by day as on February 1, 2022, a total of 1754 patients have been diagnosed with the deadly viral infection caused by the Omicron variant.
