The Volunteer in Israel Programme introduced their new 21-year-old Volunteer, Anna, from Germany. She has volunteered for almost two years in a rehabilitation Village, ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran, in the South of Israel. She shared her experience with the Organisation and remarked on her special memories from volunteering in Israel.
The Volunteer in Israel is a Governmental Programme focused on building strong communities, ensuring the Youth’s success and encouraging effective collaboration between the local communities.
Recently, The Volunteer in Israel’s Volunteer, Anna from Germany, shared some highlights from her experience.
Anna is 21, from Germany. Her four great-grandfathers were all Nazis in the Holocaust, so volunteering in Israel for her was a significant experience. Anna volunteered for almost two years in a rehabilitation village, ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran, in the south of Israel.
While sharing her experience, she said, “I enjoyed the volunteer service itself and also getting to know the heartwarming culture and people of Israel. To live among Jewish families, to celebrate Shabat and other holidays together with them – was very meaningful to me.
“What is happening right now is undescribable and heartbreaking – I am permanently thinking of you and praying for you. Am Israel Chai!” she further added.
Reportedly, ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran is a rehabilitation village, a community where people from diverse backgrounds and all ability levels can live, heal and grow together.
The Volunteers care for residents and special education students with severe disabilities with cutting-edge therapeutic and recovery services and provide a framework for personal advancement, social integration and gainful employment.
“The strength of the human chain is only as strong as its weakest link,” Anna said.
ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran offers fully accessible residential villas for people with multiple disabilities and complex medical conditions, an intensive care hospital wing, a particular education school, a green care farm, hydrotherapy and sports therapy complexes, a therapeutic horse stable and petting zoo, and a rehabilitation Medical Center.
“Volunteers are an intrinsic part of the ADI family, enriching the lives of ADI’s children with enthusiasm and love.” she shared.
Reportedly, Anna came to the Volunteer in Israel through the organization March of Life from Germany.
