In a recent interview, Dr S. Jaishankar, the external affairs minister, said that all nations except China are friendly with India. In the same sentence, he said that the country has strong relations with Russia and Ukraine and will be there for them if necessary.

Dr Jaishankar made these comments in response to inquiries on the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine during an interview. On February 24, 2022, the conflict started, and it is still increasing steadily. As a result, the minister of external affairs stated that the dispute is receiving too much attention globally.

He continued by saying that the lengthy battle makes it difficult to pay attention to the problems and complaints of the developing world. Other nations in Africa, Asia, Central America, and the Caribbean, he said, feel that their concerns are being ignored in favour of the Russia and Ukraine Conflict.

He explained that even middle-income nations are collecting debt, and nobody is worried about whether or not these countries are receiving enough resources or how much they are costing them.

As a result, he repeated the opinion given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Indian Prime Minister informed Russian President Vladimir Putin that “This is not the era for war” during their conversation at the SCO summit in Uzbekistan in September 2022.

The minister of foreign affairs stated that PM Modi wanted to create a peaceful environment. He has discussed this with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine. Zelensky spoke with EAM Dr S. Jaishankar during the conversation and expressed worries about the nuclear power plant’s safety, Jaishankar told the media.

After this conversation, EAM Jaishankar, with PM Modi’s consent, informed the IAEA of the Ukrainian president’s concern. India subsequently relayed the information and contacted the Russians.
