Bulgaria: The new Minister of Culture, Kristu Krastev, took over the position of the former Minister of Culture in Bulgaria, Nayden Todorov at a brief transitional ceremony yesterday, Tuesday, June 6, 2023. The former Minister of Culture, Nayden Todorov, has also addressed some kind words and pleasure over his successor. The Bulgaria Ministry of Culture shared the update recently.

As per the Update, over the success of the new Cultural Minister of Bulgaria, Kristu Krustev, The Former Minister of Culture, Nayden Todorov, expressed his pleasure and addressed him with some kind words. While presenting his success, Former Minister Nayden Todorov added, “This man has, over the years, proved to be one of the best cultural leaders in Bulgaria.”

With his sense of humour, Maestro Todorov wished Minister Krastev to work in the Ministry for as long as he did in Plovdiv and to be equally successful. “Two months ago, I presented you with the Ministry of Culture award; now I present you the Ministry of Culture,” Nayden Todorov turned to Krastyu Krastev.

Minister Krastev thanked Maestro Todorov, stressing that for him, he is an exceptional professional and a person he loves and respects. “I believe he has done everything he can – and more – to make things happen here, for which I’m thankful! “said Minister Krastev.

He shared that he was now coming to a place where he had previously gone for other reasons. So he thought, “You’re running out of the vent; now you have to be the vent.”

Regarding work, Minister Krastev shared that he is used to her being in a team that respects everyone’s job. “I respect every work; I respect the workability,” the new Minister of Culture said. According to him, there is probably a pile of negatives from all that is getting in the way of the work that needs to be done, but he believes that all workers in the Ministry come into it with great love, above all, for the culture.

“I wish we could build a spirit of trust that I know is hard to earn.” Trust me, I won’t interfere in anyone’s business if they win my trust that this needs to be done,” Minister Krastev addressed the Ministry of Culture team. The minister said the system must calm down, and people – be left to work. He pointed out that there are many capable people in the culture, and if the Ministry manages to calm their work environment, they will do their best.

At the end of the ceremony, in keeping with the long-standing tradition, Nayden Todorov symbolically handed over to his successor a phototype copy of the famous Manasiev Chronicle, which as a sign of continuity, the ministers of culture handover.
