Over 3,175,000 Belgians received their 2nd booster shot against COVID-19: Reports

The Sciensano Public Health Institute on Friday has made an announcement that over 3,175,000 people in Belgium have received their second booster shot against COVID-19.
This means that 41% of those aged between 50 and 64, and 66% of those aged between 65 and 84.
Among the first group to be invited,  70% of people over 80 have been completely vaccinated.
Furthermore, over 43% of Belgian healthcare providers have also received their booster shot as of October 17, with over 56% of them being vaccinated in Flanders, over 23% in Wallonia and 16% in Brussels.
In the Brussels Region, 317,000 invitations were sent to those aged 50 and above, with 92,696 people having been re-vaccinated since September 12.
As a result, 35.5% of those 65 and older have had their second booster shot, figures which have been considered insufficient by the Common Community Commission, in charge of matters to both of the capital’s communities.
Where as AViQ, the Walloon agency for quality of life, are said to be satisfied by their autumnal vaccination campaign.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson said that 1,385,000 invitations have been sent out to those aged 50 & above, as well as immunocompromised and in the region, with over 547,000 people have received their second booster since September 9.
