PM Roosevelt Skerrit expresses deep condolences over death of 19 students in Guyana school Dormitory fire

Dominican Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit expressed his sorrow and grief over the recent tragic death of 19 students in the Guyana School Dormitory Fire in Mahida on Sunday, May 20, 2023.

Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit, who has also been a member of Parliament in Vieille Case since 2000, took to his official social media handle to express his deep sorrow and grief over the recent painful and disastrous incident that took place in Guyana, South America that killed 19 students in the Guyana School Dormitory Fire in Mahida on Sunday, May 20, 2023.

On the tragic death of the students of Guyana School Dormitory in Mahida, Prime Minister wrote, ” I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of 19 students who perished in a secondary school dormitory fire in Mahdia, Guyana, late Sunday. I pray for strength for their families and healing for those hospitalized with critical injuries.”

Further, he also expressed that the Government and people of Dominica are also completely moved by the incident. He added, ” The Government and people of Dominica extend sincere condolences to the grieving families and stand in solidarity with the Government and people of Guyana.

Reportedly, The major devasting incident in Guyana that killed at least 19 students and caused severe injuries at the Guyana School Dorimotery fire in Mahida was a major disaster for the South American Nation’s Government.

According to the sources, the Guyana government has tried its best to make the possible arrangements for the students at the two major hospitals of Georgetown, Guyana, so that every student would receive the best treatment. Also, as per the government official’s statement made on this significant devasting incident, the whole country needs to understand how this major incident has happened and what impact the incident has made left; the Government must need to realize and make several improvements and take preventive measures against it for the future as well.
