St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Terrance Drew participated in an Investment roundtable on November 16 at Saudi Arabia – CARICOM summit in Riyadh.
Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, co-chaired the summit, being a Chairman of CARICOM.
During the discussion, CARICOM leaders connected with Khalid A. Al-Falih, Investment Minister of Saudi Arabia.
Also, other representatives from the private sector were involved in the discussion at the Investment Roundtable.
Significantly, the discussion enabled the ministers from various regions to show their participation and discuss the potential investment-related opportunity with the CARICOM leaders.
Moreover, a discussion on unique opportunities was held among the ministers while interacting with the government of Saudi Arabia and Business figures.
The summit’s objective is to focus on areas like investment, infrastructure, trade, energy, food security, agriculture, etc., for the country’s sustainable development.
This summit also aims to strengthen the ties between Saudi Arabia and the Caribbean countries.
Ministers from other countries also participated in the Saudi Arabia– CARICOM summit.
Prime Ministers from Antigua and Barbuda, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Lucia and Grenada marked their presence.
All the ministers from various countries reached the place where the summit took place. The discussions at the summit facilitated a lot of opportunities.
The inflows of finance from various countries will support capital projects, which will lead towards sustainable development.
The finance will be provided by various countries participating in the summit.
Likewise, PM Terrance Drew even signed an investment agreement with Saudi Arabia, which will be specified in the Saudi Fund for Development.
A total of USD 40 million will be provided for the expansion of the power plant project.
