Saint Lucia: Politician and Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire took to his social media on April 7, 2023, which was Good Friday, and shared the sixteenth verse of the Gospel of John, Chapter 3, also known as John 3:16. He stated that reflecting deeply on the meaning of Good Friday and this scripture could be helpful for people in their meditation.
Deputy Prime Minister shared that when one repercuss or reflects deeply into the meaning of Good Friday, it is the best scripture to help people in their meditation. There’s no better scripture to aid in meditation.
Also, he shared the sixteenth verse of the ‘Gospel of John’ Chapter 3, ‘John 3:16, which states, ~“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son- ‘birth of Jesus’, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life”. This means God loves all of us, his love is eternal and everlasting, and he loves us individually, and he wants you to know and love him. Also, he sent his son Jesus into the world to show the right direction and sacrifice his own life for his people’s sins. ~”For God did not send his Son-‘Jesus’ to reprehend the world, but so that the world might be saved through him”, which means God sent his Jesus to the world not to judge or criticize it to enable its salvation through him.
Reportedly, Good Friday is a Christian holiday celebrated in the holy week as a part of the Paschal Triduum before Easter. This day is celebrated in memory of Jesus Christ, who sacrificed his life for people; Good Friday is called good because of Jesus Christ’s sufferings, who atoned for all sins of humanity. Good Friday is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Good Friday and Black Friday.
