Saint Lucia Tourism Authority hosts Global Piton Awards 2024

Saint Lucia: The island nation of the Caribbean organised a widely recognised event of the Global Piton Awards, for the year 2024. The event was maintained by the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority which was hosted at Pigeon Island Gros Islet in Saint Lucia. The Sandals Grande Saint Lucian was the chosen resort hotel that hosted guests from the nations of the Caribbean region, including the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, and Ireland.

The grand event was dedicated in honour of the expert travel advisers from the prominent nations who promote the tourism of Saint Lucia by providing the best travel advice. The event was hosted to recognise the work of top-producing travel advisers by distributing awards in several different categories. In the gathering, in total, thirty-five top individuals were awarded as winners for their contribution to the tourism industry of Saint Lucia.

The awards were given to the chosen expert travel advisers on the basis of their influence in bringing tourism to the island from around the globe. The performances were considered by the booking of the rooms around Saint Lucia in the year 2023 from 01 January to 31 December through the advisers. The event of the Global Piton Awards was held under the Saint Lucia Expert Program, which is a result of the partnership between the tourism authority and the magazine.

In the list of winners among the travel advisers from the five major participating nations, including the Caribbean, most awards in different categories were scored by the experts of the United States of America. It is disclosed that among thirty-five distributed awards, fifteen winners were from the United States of America, ten from the United Kingdom and Ireland, five from Canada, and the other five winners were from the nations of the Caribbean region.

Some major was collected at the event by the winner experts were highlighted as the Prime Minister Award for Exceptional Sales performance by revenue for Global sales gone to Nancy Finn of Island Getaways. The Chairman’s Award for Exceptional Sales Performance in the United States of America was collected by Lynn Thomas of Alpha World Travel. Kim Hartlen of Kim Hartlen Travel was honoured with the CEO Award for exceptional Sales Performance in Canada.

Along with those, the Minister of Tourism Award for Exceptional Sales Performance in the United Kingdom and Ireland was distributed into two different categories. This award was collected by Jo Plummer of Tropic Breeze in the category of Tour Operator and Lianne Peters of Luxury Holidays 4 U in the category of Travel Adviser. Saint Lucia also took the opportunity to disclose their crafting ability on this occasion, as the presented trophy was handmade local art, which also displayed the insignia of the nation.

Anya Whitfield, the Officer In-charge and the Chief Financial Officer of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, made a statement on the occasion, stating, “Our travel advisers place special confidence in Saint Lucia. A major part of our global prominence and success is attributed to their continued selling of our nation’s offerings. They undoubtedly remain the pulse of our industry, and we are delighted to express our appreciation. Their efforts also support our sustainable tourism initiatives, which aim to preserve Saint Lucia’s natural beauty and cultural heritage for future generations.”
