Tbilisi witnesses large-scale event organized by Georgian diaspora in Barcelona

St. In Barcelona, ​​at the initiative of the parish of the Georgian Orthodox Church named after St. Nino and St. With the support of the General Consulate of Georgia in Barcelona, ​​an event dedicated to the “Tbilisobi” holiday was held, which was attended by about 1,000 representatives of the Georgian diaspora and a delegation from Georgia, led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Vladimir Kontantinidis.

Within the framework of the event dedicated to Tbilisi, the organizers offered visitors installations depicting different parts of Georgia, where guests had the opportunity to learn about the culture of the regions of Georgia and local cuisine, as well as the history and culture of Georgian wine production.

A concert was held in Tbilisi where St. Creation of Georgian folk ensembles operating in Barcelona, ​​including the participation of students of the Georgian Sunday school named after “St. Antimoz Ivereli”.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia addressed the audience. In his speech, Vladimir Kontantinid noted the great contribution of the diaspora in promoting Georgia and strengthening the country’s image in the countries where they are located, and thanked them for organizing such a large-scale cultural event.

Within the framework of the visit, the Georgian delegation took part in the sports competition organized by the Georgian Boxing Club “Iberia” on October 10, in which representatives of the Georgian diaspora (members of the club) and local athletes took part. It should be noted that the club “Iberia” won the grant program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – “Support of Diaspora Initiatives”, with the project – “Georgian Sports in Europe”, the project presented by the club aims to popularize Georgian sports. Other sports events are also planned within the project.

The Georgian delegation also participated in St. In the ceremony of the beginning of the academic year of the Georgian Sunday School named after “St. Antimoz Ivereli” operating in Barcelona.

It should be noted that St. The Barcelona Sunday School is one of the largest Georgian schools operating abroad, which, according to today’s data, unites more than 200 Georgian students living in the Kingdom of Spain.
