TikTok, known as Douyin in China, is a Chinese social media service under Bytedance that focuses on video sharing. The social media platform is used to produce a variety of short videos, ranging from dance, comedy, and education genres, with durations ranging from 15 seconds to 3 minutes. TikTok is the international version of Douyin, which was initially launched in the Chinese market in September 2016. Later, TikTok launched iOS and Android versions in most markets outside mainland China in 2017; however, it only became global after its merger with another Chinese social media service, Musical.ly, on August 2, 2018, Available within.
