Tiktok App Crashes Causing Issues to Users All Around

TikTok, known as Douyin in China, is a Chinese social media service under Bytedance that focuses on video sharing. The social media platform is used to produce a variety of short videos, ranging from dance, comedy, and education genres, with durations ranging from 15 seconds to 3 minutes. TikTok is the international version of Douyin, which was initially launched in the Chinese market in September 2016. Later, TikTok launched iOS and Android versions in most markets outside mainland China in 2017; however, it only became global after its merger with another Chinese social media service, Musical.ly, on August 2, 2018, Available within. TikTok and Douyin have almost the same user interface, but they cannot access each other’s content. Each of its servers is based on the market available for the corresponding application. 

The two products are similar, but the characteristics are not exactly the same. Douyin includes a video search function that allows you to get more videos about them through face search, as well as other functions, such as shopping, booking hotels, and geo-tagged reviews. Since its launch in 2016, TikTok/TikTok has quickly become popular in East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the United States, Turkey, Russia, and other parts of the world. As of October 2020, TikTok has more than 2 billion mobile downloads worldwide.

On Tuesday, many users in the U.S. were unable to load TikTok videos because the popular short video platform seemed to have a general technical failure, which lasted more than an hour. Application issues soared around 3:45 pm ET Tuesday, through the monitoring site DownDetector. According to the site, most of the issues reported by users (70%) are related to the video not loading. Another 25% of users said they had problems logging in, and 5% of reported problems were related to uploading videos. The TikTok support account on Twitter confirmed the problem in a tweet but did not provide information about the cause. “The TikTok application is currently experiencing some problems, and our team is quickly solving these problems. Thank you for your patience!”
