The American Corner, in the University of Management and Economics, Battambang, used their official social media handle to share some information and glimpses about the success of the “Education USA” event, organised on Friday, June 16th, 2023, from 4-5 pm and share some glimpses from the event.

The UME thanked all the dignitaries while expressing their gratitude and pleasure over the event’s success. They especially thanked Mr Eng Po from the U.S. Embassy for spending their valuable time coming to visit them. They shared that the American Corner provided us with tremendous knowledge of the United States. Throughout this workshop, he has provided the three main points to the Audience.

During the event, several crucial topics were discussed related to the higher education option, Identifying priorities and resources and starting your preparation process to bring efficiency and advancement to the education system.

The discussions over these topics include:

1. Higher education options: There are many different types of higher education institutions in the United States, including public universities, private universities, community colleges, and technical schools. Each type of institution has its strengths and weaknesses, so it’s essential to research and find the one that’s right for us.

2. Identifying priorities and resources: Once you’ve decided what type of institution we’re interested in, we must consider your preferences. What are your academic goals? What kind of extracurricular activities are we interested in? How much can we afford to pay for tuition? Once we know your priorities, we can identify the resources to help us achieve them. This could include talking to our guidance counsellor, researching online, or visiting different colleges.

3. Starting your preparation process: The sooner you prepare for college, the better. This includes taking challenging courses in high school, getting good grades, and taking the SAT or ACT. One should also start thinking about your personal statement and extracurricular activities.
Studying in the United States can be a great experience. With careful planning and preparation, you can increase your chances of being accepted to a great school and getting a quality education.
