“While some may not fully understand the importance of Independence, I promise that to those who have never had the freedoms and guarantees we often take for granted, it is everything!! It is one of the things they pray for every night and the reason they leave their homeland, and often their families, to journey to our country. It is something that many before us sacrificed their lives to protect and is the very foundation our great nation was built upon.”

“Today is so much more than just another holiday or barbecue; it is why we can celebrate and have barbecues. It is an opportunity for us to unite and say, “This is America, the greatest country on the planet!!” It is a time for us to show just how patriotic we can be by proudly flying “Old Glory” in our yard and wearing everything we own: Red, White, and Blue. And more than anything else, it is a time to teach our children, grandchildren and the generations to come that this holiday is to celebrate who we are and why!!”
