5 Olympic arrivals test positive for COVID infection in China

Amid the ongoing pandemic of the viral infection caused by the novel coronavirus across the globe, the Winter Beijing Olympic 2022 have been halted many times. Now, a total of 5 people have been exposed to the viral infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 from the arrivals who have visited China for the Olympic games, which is going on in Beijing.

As per the statement of the Chinese organizing team, the people who have arrived in the country has undergone the test against the COVID-19 pandemic and out of them, a total of 5 people have been contracted the viral infection caused by the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours in China.

Moreover, a total of 205 people have visited and entered China on February 8, 2022; out of these people, a total of 128 were athletes who will be going to play in the Olympics games, and it also included some teams officials as well. On the other hand, the remaining 77 people were other stakeholders who have accompanied the players and team officials.

As per the reports, the health authorities deployed at the airport of China have processed the test against the COVID-19 viral infection through the PCR-testing method. Out of all the samples, a total of samples have been proven the test and related positive of the novel coronavirus.

Further, the reports stated that, out of the five people, three were the athletes and other team officials; on the other hand, the remaining two were among the others who were related to the arrivals who have visited for the Olympics have been tested positive for the infection caused by the novel coronavirus.

Earlier last week, a total of 42 people were exposed to the viral infection caused by the novel coronavirus after they arrived in the country for the Winter Beijing Olympics 2022. The Winter Olympics have stated in the Chinese capital from February 4, and it will end on February 20, 2022.
