54-year-old Brazilian man shoved dumbbell in his rectum; seeks surgeons help to get it out

A Brazilian man who has shoved a dumbbell in his rectum is in needs to get it out with the help of surgeons.

The anonymous Brazilian man, aged around 54-years-old waited for almost two days before looking for medical attention after failing to take out the 2 kg metal weight himself.

He then moved to a hospital in Manaus while complaining about facing abdominal pain, nausea and being unable to expel.

After a complete examination of his rectal region found no sign of what might be causing his symptoms, doctors asked for an X-ray of his abdomen region.

Medics, who have made suggestions the unusual case was of a ‘sexual nature, stated that the man was ‘uncooperative’ in the physical examination.

The X-ray shows a dumbbell, which was almost 8 inches long, that is nearly 20 cm long, was lodged where the colon meets the rectum.

Medics later sedated the man in an attempt to extract a dumbbell involving surgical tweezers but couldn’t remove the dumbbell.

After multiple attempts of extraction, the team of medics preferred ‘manual extraction’, involving the surgeon shoving in their ‘forearm.’

Later, they claim that it was full of ‘difficulties’ but ended successfully with the man discharged after three days in the hospital.

As per doctors, most patients admitted with retained rectal objects are white men between the age of 20 and 40.

As per reports, sexual gratification is the most commonly reported reason for getting objects stuck.

This is partly to do with the number of nerves in the anus, making it highly sensitive.
