PARIS, October 3, 2024 – After a month of high-fashion spectacles across the globe, French fashion brand Coperni brought an enchanting close to Paris Fashion Week with an unforgettable runway show at Disneyland Paris.
On Tuesday, October 1, the vibrant world of haute couture collided with the whimsical backdrop of the iconic theme park, making it the first fashion event held in front of Sleeping Beauty’s illuminated castle.
The show, which began at 10:30 pm, had an air of excitement as fashion editors, buyers, and industry insiders embraced the playful setting.
Enthusiastic greetings from Disney characters Chip ‘n’ Dale and the glowing atmosphere of the park quickly dissolved any lingering fatigue from the month-long fashion tour.
“It’s a childhood dream come true!” exclaimed Coperni founders Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, reflecting on the two-year negotiations with Disney that led to this groundbreaking event.
The duo, who launched their fashion house in 2013, shared a deep personal connection to the venue. “We both come from the south of France, and Disneyland Paris was one of the first places our parents took us when we moved to the city,” Meyer added.
A Disney-Inspired Collection
The runway show itself was a celebration of both fashion and fantasy, with Coperni showcasing its Spring/Summer 2025 collection. The clothes were clearly inspired by the Disney universe, featuring a variety of whimsical designs that ranged from playful to dark and dramatic.
The collection was presented in three distinctive parts. The first segment evoked the innocence of childhood, featuring delicate organza blouses with ruffles, shorts with key rings attached to the waistband, and short white dresses with puffed sleeves.
Accessories such as shoes with Mickey Mouse ears and T-shirts emblazoned with vintage Disney characters like Donald Duck and Grumpy added a nostalgic flair.
The second phase of the show took a darker turn, drawing inspiration from Disney villains. Models sported T-shirts featuring Snow White’s wicked stepmother, alongside black patent leather coats and haunted castle-inspired strapless dresses, reflecting the eerie elegance of Disney’s darker characters.
Finally, the collection’s third section brought forth a parade of modern-day princesses, with models dressed in mini gowns cut from transparent tulle and adorned with flowers.
Beauty mogul Kylie Jenner made a show-stopping appearance, closing the runway in a voluminous black strapless gown that added a dramatic flourish to the evening.
A Magical Finale
As the final pieces made their way down the runway, Sleeping Beauty’s castle transformed into a vibrant backdrop of shifting colors, while lightning bolts lit up the night sky, adding to the show’s cinematic appeal.
“We did dozens of rehearsals with the Disney teams to synchronize the timing and the lighting projections on the castle,” Meyer explained.
The 800 guests in attendance, including fashion editors, celebrities, and influencers, were not only treated to a visually stunning fashion show but were also given exclusive access to Disneyland Paris attractions.
Late into the night, the park remained open, with guests riding popular attractions like Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear’s adventure, their screams of thrill and delight echoing throughout the park.
Coperni’s show at Disneyland Paris was more than just a runway event—it was a blend of fashion and fantasy, merging childhood dreams with cutting-edge style.
The collection’s commercial potential, coupled with the social media buzz from the event, ensured that Coperni’s latest show would be remembered as one of Paris Fashion Week’s most magical moments.
