Death tally due to COVID-19 continues to rise in Belgium: Reports

The majority of the individuals facing death by getting affected by the COVID-19 infection is showing an upward trend in Belgium. Also, the increase of Coronavirus cases is increasing at a rapid pace.

As per the Sciensano Public Health Institute on Tuesday, March 29, around 20.9 cases of COVID-19 infected people have faced death has been reported between March 19 to 25, which has been increased by 11 percent.

Along with this, since the pandemic has started, the maximum number of deaths that has been noticed is 30,747. The shared data by the officials also includes the information related to the individuals who have been died because of another reason, but they were also carrying the COVID-19 virus. This depicts the information that most of the deaths have been caused by the disease.

An average of 11,052 of the latest data of the COVID-19 virus has been recognized on a per-day basis, which has been increased by 11 percent in the last seven days.

Moreover, the surge in new cases has been attributed to the Omicron BA.2 subvariant, also known as the stealth Omicron, which accounts for 87.1 percent of all cases and is a highly transmissible Omicron subvariant.

The maximum number of the PCR test that has been taken on a daily basis in a similar time has been risen by 8 percent to 37,889.6.

Furthermore, the rate of positive cases has been mentioned as 31.1 percent, which means that it is over three out of ten tests have positive results.

In the nation, about 206.4 patients carrying the infection have been admitted to the health care center daily, and there has been an increase of 20 percent observed since the seven days.
