Dominica: Government steps to operationalize 15 innovative Hubs under Digital Transformation project

The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica is operationalizing 15 innovative hubs nationwide through the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project. The Roseau Valley Hub was recently commissioned and will provide services to the Roseau Valley Constituency residents.

As per the Update, the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project implemented by the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, which aims to enhance the Digital Technology and the IT infrastructure of the Nation, has made several contributions since its implementation.

The Government of Dominica has introduced this project to prioritize Digital information, strengthen the island’s and its inhabitants’ climate resilience, and the importance of integration with the global digital economy to expand markets and drive sustainability of businesses, government, and individuals.

This time, The Caribbean Digital Transformation Project of the Ministry of Public Works, Public Utilities and the Digital Economy hosted a summer tech camp for high school students. The Summer Tech Camp is scheduled to emerge in Dominica on 10th July at 9 am sharp at the various Innovation Hubs across the island.

During the Summer Tech Camp, the Students will present to have the opportunity to participate in training in Web Designing and Programming: Java.

The camp will commence on 10th July at 9:00 am at the following Innovation Hubs:
• Viel Case Innovation Hub, located at Viel Case Resource Center

• Newtown Innovation Hub and Coworking Space – Newtown Primary School
• Kenfield Innovation Hub – Beneath Kenfield City Council
• Grandbay Innovation Hub located in Grandbay Resource Center
• Roseau Innovation Hub is located in City Breeze Apartments
• Roseau Valley Innovation Hub, located in the Roseau Valley Resource Center
• Leu Innovation Hub located at Leu Emergency Shelter
• Mahout Innovation Hub is located at Mahout Primary School
• St. Cyr. Innovation Hub located in the St. Cyr Resource Center
• Laplain Innovation Hub located at Jones Beaupierre Primary School
• CALLS – Center, where teens learn to love and. serve

Interested students can register for Web Designing and Programming: Java by visiting cardtp.gov.dm.

Reportedly, The Summer Tech Camp aims to provide a unique and immersive experience for young individuals to discover the exciting world of technology and digital transformation.
