The French Embassy in Oman shared the telephone conversation between the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and his Iranian counterpart, or the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, on Saturday, June 10th 2023, to discuss the regional situation and strengthen their relationship to find the standard solutions effectively.

While sharing the update of the Telephone Conversation between the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and his Iranian counterpart, the President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi, on Saturday, June 10th 2023, the French Embassy in Oman took to their official social media handle recently to share some updates from their conversation.

As per the Update, During their telephone conversation, The French President, Emmanuel Macron, once again expressed his relief for releasing two May 12th nationals detained in Iran. He also reiterated his deep concern about the four French nationals still imprisoned in Iran and called for their immediate release.

President Emmanuel then also expressed his concern about the current trajectory of Iran’s nuclear program. He reiterated the determination of France and its European partners to find a diplomatic solution to this issue. He highlighted the importance of Tehran taking concrete and verifiable de-escalation measures and implementing fully and immediately her international obligations and commitments made to the International Atomic Energy Agency on March 4th 2023.

President Emmanuel also warned of the serious security and humanitarian consequences of Iran’s delivery of drones to Russia and called on Tehran to put an immediate end to its support for Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.

Finally, the two heads of state discussed the regional situation. The French President emphasized France’s constant commitment to stability and security in the region. The Head of State reiterated the urgent need to strengthen regional cooperation to solve everyday challenges.
