Italy: Rescuers discovers 7 bodies of people killed in helicopter crash

Rescuers have traced out bodies of approximately seven people that have been killed during the helicopter crash in Italy, announces local authorities on Saturday, two days after the aircraft went missing from radar screens.

On Thursday, the helicopter had taken off from Lucca in Tuscany and was moving towards the northern city of Treviso when it became victim of bad weather over a remote area.

According to the prefect’s office in the city of Modena has mentioned in a statement that, “The rescuers have found dead the seven passengers from the helicopter, four of Turkish and two of Lebanese nationality, who were on a business trip to Italy. Along with the Italian pilot.”

According to the statement, “the helicopter was discovered in a mountainous region on the border between Tuscany and the Emilia Romagna region.”

The statement by the company mentions that, “The Turkish businessmen worked for Eczacibasi Consumer Products, a subsidiary of major Turkish industrial group Eczacibasi (ECZYT.IS). They had been attending a paper technologies fair in Italy.”

The helicopter was an AW119 Koala which was manufactured by defence group Leonardo (LDOF.MI), a source close to the matter said.
