The Council Chambers, Mayor Krieg, welcomed 23 new citizens at the Australian Citizenship Ceremony this Morning, July 20, 2023, in Lismore City, Australia.
As per the update, The new citizens came from many countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, Vanuatu, Thailand, Germany, Italy, Turkey, the Philippines, Iran, New Zealand, France, Thailand, South Africa and Taiwan.
Australia is one of the most culturally diverse nations in the world. Since 1949, the nation has welcomed over five million new citizens to its shores.
The Council Chambers, Mayor extended their pleasure and Congratulated the new citizens on becoming part of the nation, adding, “Congratulations and welcome to our new citizens who are now part of the common bond that unites all Australians and respects diversity”.
Reportedly, Australian Citizenship allows citizens and investors to reside and settle their businesses in a better, more developed nation. It also helps people improve their living standards and sustain themselves suitably within the country.
Criteria to Acquire the Australia Citizenship:
A child born in Australia to an Australian permanent resident or citizen parent will automatically be entitled to Australian Citizenship. A child born outside of Australia to an Australian citizen parent will also automatically be entitled to Australian Citizenship.
After four years of lawful residence in Australia, with at least the last 12 months spent as an Australian permanent resident, it is possible to apply for Australian Citizenship. A citizenship appointment and test must be attended and passed, as well as a pledge that must be made before Citizenship will be granted.
Adult Australian citizens must vote in federal, state, and local government elections, and failure to do so may result in financial penalties. It is also a requirement for Australian citizens to exit and enter Australia using their Australian passports. Australia allows dual Citizenship.
