“Maia Sandu, president of Moldova, had conducted a trip to Ukraine at the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
President Sandu shared the information on her official Facebook social media, where she noted her experience of the entire trip n Ukraine.
President Sandu visited the cities that were destroyed last week in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
She wrote that “I saw with my own eyes houses burned to the ground, housing blocks destroyed by rockets, hospitals, shops and kindergartens ruined by Russian artillery attacks in Borodeanka and Irpin. We also saw the site of mass graves in Bucea, where dozens of people shot during the occupation of this little town by the Russian army were buried. This is a tragedy hard to put into words.”
Further, she added: For four months, Ukraine, our neighbour and friend country, has been living in war. The Republic of Moldova has condemned from day one Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, and we call on the international community to do everything possible to restore peace, to investigate and punish the unjustified crimes committed in this conflict.
We stand with the brave Ukrainian people, who are fighting for their freedom and for the freedom of Europe. The future of Ukraine is in the free world, in the big European family.
