Namur Police arrests two for murder of Jemeppe resident

Namur Public Prosecutor, Vincent Macq have recently released a statement on Friday about the arrest of the alleged murderers of a man whose lifeless body was discovered on Monday in his burnt-out van in Lonzee (Gembloux). The alleged killers have been nabbed for arson and murder.
The victim, one of a resident of Jemeppe-sur-Sambre born in 2001, was died due to a bullet injury in the chest and another in the head, as per the autopsy.
Firefighters found his body on Monday afternoon in his burnt-out vehicle in the middle of a field in Lonzee.
The alleged perpetrator, an owner of a shop from Gembloux born in 1992, was captured on Thursday & immediately confessed. His alleged accomplice, who was born in 1995, was later nabbed. Both were placed under an arrest warrant on Friday.
The key suspect said that, for days, the victim, whom he met several weeks ago, had attempted to extort several thousands of euros from him & behaved threateningly towards him.
Feeling a threat upon his life, the man later killed him, explaining his actions by the ‘pedigree’ of the victim.
Whereas, according to the Namur Public prosecutor’s statement, “The man was only known to the police offences & infringing coronavirus rules and regulations.
Both of the suspects will appear in court in the next few days.
