PM Skerrit discusses ideas with new DOMLEC General Manager Dwayne Cenac

Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, the current Prime Minister of Dominica, met with Dwayne Cenac, General Manager of the DOMLEC. The meeting took place on Wednesday, 11 September, and was followed by crucial discussions on the necessary steps for improvement in the sector.

Dwayne Cenac recently joined the Dominica Electricity Services Company, also called DOMLEC, in his new position as a General Manager. After his appointment, he met with Prime Minister Skerrit for the first time in order to discuss the furtue strategies.

The information about the meeting was shared by the official social media account of Roosevelt Skerrit. The PM also shared a glimpse of the meetup. In the post, PM Skerrit mentioned his meeting with Dwayne Cenac as a pleasure to welcome him.

PM Roosevelt Skerrit mentioned in the post, “Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Dwayne Cenac, the newly appointed General Manager of the Dominica Electricity Services Company (DOMLEC).”

With the appointment of a new General Manager for Dominica Electricity Services Company, PM Skerrit highlighted his focus on the betterment of the people. He stated his discussion with Cenac about achieving the strategic goals by ensuring a reliable source of energy with respect to the financial capacity of the citizens.

He stated, “Our discussion focused on his strategic goals to enhance our power supply and ensure reliable, affordable energy for all Dominicans. I assured Mr. Cenac of the Government’s full support in DOMLEC’s efforts to expand generation capacity and improve service reliability for customers.”

After taking over the new responsibility, Dwayne Cenac stated in his words that Dominica is heading towards geothermal energy. He mentioned that the government is working on further advancements, which will be observed in the upcoming years.

He stated that the island nation of Dominica is currently at a stage where around twenty percent of energy comes from renewable sources. This achievement in itself is a milestone. However, the aim of the government is to achieve the goal of a hundred percent green energy with time.

As the new General Manager of the DOMLEC, Dwayne Cenac is expected to enhance the overall efficiency of the sector. He will be looking over the daily operations and will guide the planning and execution of the projects with his strategic leadership.

Dwayne Cenac expressed his commitment to his new role and stated that he will be working to serve solutions to the issues face. He mentioned that his dedication would be to bring the vision of the government on the ground.
