Ukraine: The Embassy of Ukraine in Belgium shared the rules and regulations for Ukraine citizens outside Ukraine. Those who were pre-war parents and had a baby while temporarily outside Ukraine can now remotely apply for childbirth assistance.
They also enacted some rules and regulations for those women who gave birth to a child abroad could only receive help after returning to Ukraine. Physical presence was required to address the social protection authority personally.
The Embassy of Ukraine in Belgium took to their social media on Friday, April 28, 2023, to share some of the rules and regulations for Ukraine citizens outside Ukraine.
The Ukraine Embassy, meanwhile, also shared some rules necessary to provide the possibility of sending an application and documents about the birth of a child to the social protection authority of the population in Ukraine. For this, the Embassy shared some of the necessary details, which are as follows:
✓ open a bank account for social payments (such an account can be opened remotely without the need for a personal visit
✓ fill out the application for birth assistance (application form at: https://zakon.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/z0145-23#Text )
✓ add to the application issued by the competent authorities of the country of residence and legalized in the established order documents certifying the birth of a child.
✓ submit through postal application and documents certifying the birth of a child to the social protection authority of the registered (declared) residence (stay) in Ukraine.
The Embassy shared that the social protection authority of the population to which the application and documents will be sent will fulfil the assistance purpose. The appropriate funds will be transferred to a personal account opened in a banking institution.
“The deadline to apply for help is 12 months after the birth of a child.
However, the term of appeal has been extended for the quarantine validity period and one month after its completion date (i.e. until 31.05.2023),” stated Ukraine Embassy.
