J&K, Srinagar: The Foreign Delegates of the G20 Summit, 2023, experienced the side event on “Film Tourism Economic and Cultural Preservation” during the three days Tourism Group Meetings that commenced on Monday, May 22, 2023.
The Foreign Delegates of the G20 Summit during the three days Tourism Group meetings held in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir from Monday, May 22, 2023, to Wednesday, May 24, 2023, got to experience the beauty and diversification of the Kashmir Valley and saw many such fascinating things about the Culture and uniqueness the Region has, along with that during the Summit meeting; the Foreign delegates also got to experience the side event called “Film Tourism Economic and Cultural Preservation” which was projected as Jammu and Kashmir as a destination for the International Shooting.
During their three days Group Tourism Meetings, the delegates showcased the importance of the film tourism sector and its impact on the economy and the Culture of the Region.
The Delegates also explored some of the beautiful places of Kashmir Valley; the Delegates took the beautiful Shikara ride, and following that, they were also seen roaming out the local markets of Srinagar and talking to the local residents; they also shared their experiences with the summit and also were agreed that Jammu and Kashmir is one of the best destinations to shoot the films.
The delegates also exuded hope that these They exuded hope that the filmmakers would explore the scenic locations of Union Territory in times to come, and the G20 meeting would give a fillip to film tourism in the Region.
Notably, Kashmir was the second home for Bollywood till the late 1990s. Also, some of the movies, including the late actor Raj Kapoor shot some sequences of his film Barsaat in Kashmir, taking its serene beauty to the audience.
