Saint Lucia advised to stay healthy and responsible amid carnival

Saint Lucia: As the citizens of the island nation are enjoying the season of grand carnival in Saint Lucia, the officials raised the call for the people to stay responsible for their health and society. The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs for Saint Lucia advised the participants of the carnival to enjoy the season while taking care of their health. Along with personal care, the authorities also asked the public to stay aware of their social responsibilities.

The health ministry mentioned the importance of eating well, sleeping well, taking enough water, and staying alert to the surroundings to avoid unwanted situations during the carnival period. The advice is shared with the people by the ministry on their official social spaces. The motive for releasing such advisories for the people is that the participants of the carnival often stop taking care of themselves amid enjoyment, which leads to severe results.

The health ministry asked people to keep eating healthy food and drinking more water while not skipping their diet in order to enjoy the events the whole day. The commons are advised by the officials to keep taking their meals in a timely order to fuel their bodies while being part of the fete. It is quoted that eating regularly and staying hydrated as per the body’s requirements is necessary to stay energetic and avoid falling ill.

It has been seen in previous times that many people seek medical attention after avoiding their health during such times. Along with eating more healthy food, the ministry also advised the public to limit their alcohol consumption during the enjoyment of Saint Lucia carnival events. The required sleep is also recommended to give rest to the body to remove fatigue of the whole day.

The reason for this advice is that people always avoid sleep so that they don’t miss the chance to enjoy the carnival, which is a time away from their regular life. The people also consume limitless alcohol on their event which leaves them out of their control. These situations often lead to not just poor health but also a disturbance in social structure. Many incidents of accidents and other unlawful activities recorded during these times resulted in casualties.

The public is also asked to stay aware of the situation around them and what is happening by the health ministry to avoid any kind of criminal activity. A similar advisory was also released by the Ministry of Public Safety and the Police Department of Saint Lucia. These are the most common times when criminals find an opportunity to commit crimes, or the situation itself creates a moment where people commit offences unconsciously.

The advice was released by the authorities to keep the public alert and responsible for their own well-being and also for the people around them. Security was also managed to control the increase in crimes during the carnival. Anyhow, the police department reported that the public stayed responsible as Saint Lucia successfully handled the crime situation during the fete. The authorities quoted that no prominent crime peak was recorded in this time period.

The people of Saint Lucia are enjoying the carnival in their nation along with the tourists who travelled to the island to participate in the fete from nearby nations and around the globe. Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre also talked about the events and congratulated everyone for the successful organisation of the Lucia carnival while expressing his gratitude. The carnival is intended not just to bring enjoyment but also to improve the local businesses and economic growth of the nation.
