SSE Riga Future Leaders Academy- Jauno līderu akadēmija hosts educational Programme

The SSE Riga Future Leaders Academy- Jauno līderu akadēmija has been concluded on Sunday, October 29, 2023. The Embassy of Sweden in Riga extended their pride and support to the program. They also honoured the young participants and leaders in their fields of Interest.

The Educational Academy’s Programme was held at the Stockholm School of Economics.

This year’s Programme has included discussions with the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs (this past Friday), several Ministers, local politicians, prominent journalists, business executives, etc.

The program concluded with a festive graduation ceremony at @SSERiga, including the presentations of the young participant’s ideas for the development of Latvia.

The jury consists of former President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers, Swedish Ambassador to Latvia Karin Höglund, and one of Latvia’s leading journalists, Pauls Raudseps.

They had the difficult task of choosing three winning teams among the best idea presentations, which targeted various problems such as disinformation, the education system and the shadow economy.

The Embassy of Sweden in Riga concluded the event by welcoming the FLA graduates for lunch at the Embassy.

This was the seventh year of the “Future Leaders Academy”. The project is organized by the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, with the support of the Swedish Embassy in Latvia and the Swedish Institute Svenska Institutet.

The project aims to educate, inspire, and develop the leadership potential of youth aged 18 and 25 across Latvia.

The Embassy extended their pride and pleasure and shared that the Programme could not have happened without the Director of the Future Leaders Academy, Ieva Birka.

The participants from the SSE Riga Future Leaders Academy also gave presentations of ideas. The participants also had the opportunity to meet with the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevičs and ask their questions.

They also heard from BAFF – Baltic-American Freedom Foundation, Thomas Pildegovich, and FLA Alumni who worked/participated at Re: Baltica, Ar pasaules pieredzi Latvijā, and One Young World.

On the last day of the program and the presentation of the youth’s ideas on the topic of Latvian development.
