Supermodel "Bella Hadid" feels weird walking fashion shows amid hearing Russia-Ukraine war
Europe is profoundly called an epicentre for hosting several fashion weeks across the nations and hosting several shows in London, Milan, and Paris. Several parts of the European region have been impacted due to ongoing war in one of its nations. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, several innocent people have been forced to evacuate their homes and flee to take shelter in several neighbouring nations.
While expressing the concerns, Palestinian-Dutch model Bella Hadid has released a statement via her Instagram Story.
The 25-year-old model, who has recently walked the ramp for Off-White in Paris Fashion Week, showed her support to colleague Mica Arganaraz, who announced her Instagram Story that she would be contributing a part of her earnings from fashion week to Ukrainian organisations.
As per the statement of the Argentine model, “I have to say it feels very bizarre walking fashion shows even after getting aware of that there’s a war going on in the same continent. I will be contributing part of my earnings from fashion week to help Ukrainian organisations. To my model friends and colleagues and whoever is struggling with the similar feeling, perhaps this is something we could all contribute to.”
Sharing Mica’s statement on her Instagram Story, which disappeared on Tuesday, Bella mentioned, “You said it, Mica Argananaraz. We have a bunch of Ukrainian friends, colleagues, models, production, casting to see the lack of communication/knowledge about a war that is subsiding is very, very sad.”
The supermodel has further added that it is incredibly odd to be walking fashion shows, especially during this time. Bella urged people in the fashion industry to do their research and have an open conversation about the devastation that is happening next door. Bella described fashion as very lonely, making one feel like an outcast, especially in politics or anything other than fashion.
It is not the first time Bella has voiced her political opinions on social media. The model often extends her support to Palestinians who have been fighting for their homeland against Israeli occupation.
