The New Brussels Gallery Portraits International marked the one-year after the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine with the opening of an exhibition of 12 Ukrainian artists featuring original works and art reproductions.
The Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom posted an update on social media on Saturday, April 8, 2023, shared, about the opening of the 12th Ukrainian exhibition featuring Ukrain’s original works and art reproductions by Portraits International in Brussels.
The Ukraine Embassy shared that the New Brussels Gallery ‘Portraits International‘ marked the one-year after the beginning of Russia-Ukraine’s war with the opening of an exhibition of 12 Ukrainian artists featuring original works and art reproductions.
The project’s primary goal is to raise funds by selling the works. The generated funds will be donated to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, v humanitarian action and the Takshtab charity fund, which directly supports displaced mothers and children under the age of 3 in Ukraine.
The Embassy of Ukraine in Belgium shared that they are very grateful to the curators of the exhibition Claire Soper and Peter van der Heijden, organizers of the Tsekh Gallery in Kyiv and the James Butterwick Gallery in London, Art Dealer Katia Vozianova and journalist/contemporary art researcher Iryna Belan for the incredible exhibition and its opening.
The Embassy also shared that they are also very grateful for Ukrainian’s passion for art and commitment to promoting Ukrainian culture abroad.
They further announced that the exhibition would be open until May 14 2023, and have invited everyone to visit and get inspired by the works of contemporary Ukrainian art.
Reportedly, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR is a United Nations nodal agency that aids and protects refugees, forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people and assists them in their voluntary repatriation, local integration or resettlement to a third country. The UNHCR was founded in 1951 after World War II; its headquarter is in Geneva, Switzerland.
