In 2019, Todd Haynes directed “Dark Waters”, written by Mario Correa and Matthew Michael Carnahan. This film dramatizes Robert Bilott’s case against DuPont, a chemical manufacturing corporation, after they contaminated a town with unregulated chemicals.
The film is based on Nathaniel Rich’s article “The Lawyer Who Became DuPont’s Worst Nightmare” from the New York Times Magazine in 2016. In 2007, Callie Lyons, a journalist from the Mid-Ohio Valley who covered the scandal.
