Amnesty International Deutschland withstands Saudi Arabia-based Mohammed bin Nasser al-Ghamdi

German Non-Governmental Organisation Amnesty International Deutschland raised their concern about the injustice laid on Saudi Arabian-based Mohammed bin Nasser al-Ghamdi, who has been sentenced to death for posting peaceful activities on his Twitter and YouTube handles.

The Saudi-Arabian-based Mohammed bin Nasser al-Ghamdi has a total of ten followers on his two anonymous Twitter accounts. Yet Mohammed bin Nasser al-Ghamdi was sentenced to death for his peaceful online activities on Twitter and YouTube.

The German-based Non-Governmental Organisation Amnesty International Deutschland, which aims to protect the people’s human rights, has raised its concern and voice against this unlawful crime to take revenge just for criticizing the governmental policies and actions.

As per the reports shared by Amnesty International, Mohammed bin Nasser al-Ghamdi was sentenced for the indictment cited several tweets leading to his conviction, including posts

  • in which he was the Saudi king and crown princes
  • and criticized Saudi foreign policy,
  • demanded the release of imprisoned religious clerics
  • and protested against price increases.

While opposing this unlawful action, Amnesty International said that It seems absurd that Mohammad bin Nasser Al-Ghamdi has now been sentenced to death because of his postings.

However, his brother, Dr. Saeed bin Nasser al-Ghamdi, has a guess: Saeed himself is an Islamic scholar and government critic living in self-elected exile in Britain. He explained to Amnesty International that he views his brother’s death sentence as retaliation for his activism.

The Special Criminal Court relies on the prosecution of Mohammed and others on vague provisions of the laws against cybercrime and terrorism, which equate peaceful expressions and online activities with “terrorism”.

The Amnesty International Deutschland has extended their support to Mohammad bin Nasser against the cruel and absurd injustice leading to the destruction of his right to peaceful living by his own nation’s government and urged people to extend their support now: https://www.amnesty.de/…/saudi-arabien-drohende…
