The Belgium Ambassador to Kenya, Peter Maddens, earlier Today, Monday, August 14, 2023, met with the Delegations from the Government of Kenya to discuss how to enhance the nation’s Environmental Sustainability and Development.
During the meeting, The dignitaries from the Government of Kenya extended their pleasure and gratitude and emphasised taking the initiatives for the Country’s sustainable Growth and Development.
They also discussed the various issues affecting the nation.
The Government of Kenya was keen to enhance development cooperation with Belgium in Green, Sustainable, and Inclusive Growth and other programmes to improve environmental sustainability within the lines stipulated in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary, Njuguna Ndung’u, said this during a courtesy call by the Belgium Ambassador to Kenya, H.E Peter Maddens, at the Treasury Building.
As the Government of Kenya is based on the four pillars of sustainable Development, i.e. Human, Social, Economic and Environmental, the Government has taken the initiative to strengthen its relationship with Belgium and take steps collectively for its Development.
The Sustainable Development Goals in Kenya aim to promote the small-scale development of various societal sectors, including agriculture, small-scale farming, Technology and Marketing. It also seeks to end all types of Hunger and malnutrition by 2030. The SDGs in Kenya also focus on improvising the lives of people, especially children and women, and providing them with equal opportunities.
