Belgium records over 8000 COVID-19 cases per day between March 6-12: Reports

Over 2,182 individuals have been tested positive for the COVID-19 infection in Belgium and are admitted to the hospital. Around 180 patients have been treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

As per the information provided by the Sciensano Public Health Institute, On Wednesday, an average case of the COVID-19 was noticed, and there are 156.4 new additions in the health care centre has been reported on a daily basis which is a 9 per cent increase in the hospitalization between 9 to 15 March.

Moreover, a maximum of 2,182 COVID positive individuals are admitted to the health care centre, with around 180 patients getting treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The overall cases of people getting infected by the COVID-19 have been raised by 30 per cent.

Along with this, around 8,075 of the new infections were detected on a per-day basis between 6 to 12 March, which has been increasing by 30 per cent to the last week.

In a similar time period, approximately 19 individuals have faced death on a daily basis while carrying the virus. Since the pandemic has begun in Belgium, a total 30,472 of people have died.

On the other hand, around 34,800 tests were taken every day, and 25.3 per cent of the people were positive.

Furthermore, the incidence, which indicated the maximum number of the latest figures of the COVID case per 100,000 inhabitants, has reached 867 over 14 days.
