Bridging Nations: Australian Ambassador Alison Duncan Strengthens Ties with BABC

An extraordinary moment for the Bulgarian Australian Business Council (BABC) unfolded as they welcomed the Australian Ambassador to Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania, Alison Duncan. This distinguished diplomat officially visited Sofia, Bulgaria, and held an exclusive gathering with our BABC members.

During her visit, Ambassador Duncan presented credentials to the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev. It was a significant step in bolstering diplomatic relations between the two nations. 

The meeting was filled with vibrant discussions productive networking, and focused on their unwavering commitment to bridge the business communities of both countries.

Their meeting was based on the following aspects:

 Building Bridges: BABC’s core mission is to foster solid economic ties and collaborations between Australia and Bulgaria. Ambassador Duncan’s wealth of experience aligns seamlessly with our vision, strengthening our resolve to promote business relations and opportunities between our countries.

 A Toast to Friendship: The event was marked with the gracious offer of complimentary drinks, symbolizing our nation’s warm friendship and collaboration.

 BABC members were thrilled to welcome Ambassador Duncan to our vibrant community, recognizing her as a critical partner in our mission.

 They also urged people to stay updated on future events and collaborations between the Bulgarian Australian Business Council and the Australian Embassy.

“Together, we build a brighter future for bilateral relations and business opportunities,” BABC asserted.

The Greek Minister of Defence, Nikos Dendias, reportedly met with the Australian Ambassador in Greece, Alison Duncan, on Thursday, October 6, 2023.

During their meeting, both the delegations discussed the strategic partnership between the two countries, their support for Ukraine, and other matters of bilateral interest.

They recognised the roots of the deep cultural and historical connection that binds Greece and Australia. They also highlighted their 100 years of Greek migration to Australia and as allies in World War II, where Australian soldiers fought alongside Greeks against the Germans.
