Four soldiers injured in Bomb blast
An incident of the bomb blast has been reported in northern Burkino Faso, a place in West Africa, in which an improvised explosive device blasted, left four people severely injured and impaired. On Tuesday evening, January 18, 2022, the French army has informed about the incident.
“IED has been activated by the off-road vehicles of the soldiers as they left out the Ouahigouya airport,” stated the French army in their statement. It further added that the unit of the soldiers who get wounded was conducting the operation, which is known as the Barkhane operation.
As per some reports, the insurgency of the jihadist at the borders was increased, and the French army discovered some illegal happening, so they have deployed the troops at Paris in the Sahel to curtail the rebellion.
The army further mentioned that their four soldiers had been wounded in the blast incident out of them; one is in serious condition. Moreover, the group has been evacuated to Mali or France for those people who are in a more critical condition, and they need help urgently.
The jihadist attacks had emerged in 2015 rapidly, and Burkino Faso was battling with the insurgency for a long time. Moreover, the militant group which is associated with Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State group have increased their invasion and mounted cross-border raids from Mali.
In the incident, more than 2,000 people were killed, according to some reports. The Islamic State group is repeatedly targeted at the flashpoint “tri-border” in the Greater Sahara and the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Group to help Islam and Muslims (GSIM). They have also deadly attacked the civilians and soldiers of the area.
Since the military intervention started in Mali in 2013, several high ranked members of ISGC have been killed by the French army.
However, in June last year, French President Emmanuel Macron has declared that there should be significant scaleback in Barkhane mission to reschedule the counter-terrorism operations and support local forces
