Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit welcomes Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show and Market Fair, shares update

The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, recently visited the Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show and Market Fair to mark the program’s opening and also shared some updates on the event.

Dominica President Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit recently took to his official social media handle to share about the opening of Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show and Market Fair that commenced in Dominica from Saturday, May 27, 2023, to Monday, May 29, 2023, under the theme “50 years and still Blooming” and is held jointly by the two villages of Giraudel and Eggleston, located in the foothills of Morne Anglais.

The Prime Minister also shared some glimpses from his visit to the Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show and Market Fair show, marking the program’s opening and representing various varieties of flowers and plants from the site to view and purchase for the people.

Further, He also urged people to Visit the Flower Show site to view the beautiful displays and purchase flowers and plants. He also announced that the Flower Show and Market Fair runs daily until Tuesday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

As per the update, The Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Show and Market Fair show which is commenced in Dominica from Saturday, May 27, 2023, to Monday, May 29, 2023, will feature florists, flower designers, exotic plant growers, gardeners, and landscapers from the twin communities, with additional highlights such as a floral exhibition and sale, entertainment, and local cuisine. The Prime Minister also shared glimpses from the Flower Show and Market Fair, displaying various blooming flowers and plants.

The Flower Show and Market Fair has been an exquisite floricultural tradition of the twin communities of Giraudel and Eggleston since 1973 and is renowned for its profusion of exotic floral displays, gardening and landscaping, and retail exhibition of their harvest. The vibrant and colourful festival made a comeback last year following Hurricane.
