Embassy of Ukraine in Norway hosts two days event on Solidarity and Partnership with Ukraine

The Embassy of Ukraine in Norway hosted the two-day Solidarity and Partnership with Ukraine event on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 and Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Norway marked August 30 as the second day of the “Solidarity and Partnership with Ukraine” Conference.

On the Second Day, the Embassy of Ukraine in Norway, in cooperation with the Center for Civil Liberties, the Norwegian Helsinki Committee and the Norwegian association s2pU, held the event “Political recognition of Holodomor as genocide”.

The Event was attended by Jan Kristensen, Mayor of Lyngdal municipality; Oleksandra Matviichuk, Head of the Center for Civil Liberties and Nobel Peace Prize Winner 2022; State Secretary Eivind Vad Petersson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Dr Liliya Honcharevych, Chargé d’affaires, Andrii Ivanets, a researcher at the National Museum of the Holodomor, Bard Larsen, historian, Ninel Svetlynska and Per-Kaare Holdal, Support to the people of Ukraine, Ola Elvestuen, Liberal Party and other representatives of Norwegian political parties.

The delegates presented their speeches and extended their pleasure on receiving the warm welcome. They emphasised the courage and determination of Ukraine to fight and Stand back at the powerful nation again.

They also highlighted their long-term commitment and partnership with Ukraine. The Event will contribute to a more significant evolution in Norway’s approach to the possible recognition of the Holodomor in Ukraine as an act of genocide of the Ukrainian people.

At last, the Embassy of Ukraine extended their gratitude and thanked all participants for joining them on the first day of the Conference.

Reportedly, On August 29, 2023, the Embassy of Ukraine in Norway, in cooperation with the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities and the Norwegian Association s2pU, held the event “Norwegian Municipalities Helping Ukrainian Municipalities”.

The issue of supporting the Ukrainian economy was discussed,
notably by deepening cooperation between Norwegian and Ukrainian cities and implementing joint Norwegian-Ukrainian projects. Cooperation in this direction has already started, and we look forward to seeing the first results.
