England Women’s team will be going to take on Belgium and the Netherlands ahead of Euro 2022, which is going to take place this summer.
England is planning to host Belgium at Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Molineux Stadium on Thursday, June 16, before Sarina Wiegman takes on her former side at Leeds United’s Elland Road on Friday 24.
Both matches are already set to begin at 8 pm. England team have been proven as strong as it is unbeaten in nine(9) matches under Wiegman. They started their Euro 2022 campaign against Austria on July 6 prior to matches against Norway and Northern Ireland.
Meanwhile, Wiegman stated, “Although right now, we are currently focused on the two of upcoming April qualifiers, with the Euros approaching, you also feel the excitement growing.
“The following matches against Belgium as well as the Netherlands will be just the challenge we should face in the last weeks of our work to be ready for the Euros. I hope we shall go on with the progress we have shown so far and build on the strong team spirit and togetherness that will be required in the final tournament. And of course, playing the Netherlands, and getting in touch so many familiar faces again who Arjan and I have worked with for many years provides a special touch to a game against good opposition,” said Wiegman.
Wiegman further added, “I am also very much excited to be stepping back to Wolverhampton. We were given a tremendous welcome against Germany. I am also very pleased to have the match in Leeds. I know it is an area that has a big passion for football, and I hope we can give the fans plenty of excitement at both matches.”
