Knesset speaker Ohana calls India Israel’s closest and dearest friend

Amir Ohana, the speaker of the Israeli Knesset, referred to India as one of Israel’s dearest and closest allies on Friday. He described receiving the invitation to visit India as a unique pleasure.

During a conversation with Parliament Speaker Om Birla, the Speaker of the Knesset remarked, “I consider it a tremendous honour to be with you today”.

“In reality, this is not only my first trip to India but also the first trip to India by a speaker of the Knesset. And it gives me great joy to have been invited in particular to India, one of Israel’s dearest friends and the largest democracy in the world”, said Amir Ohana.

Omaha emphasizes that Israel and India are celebrating 31 years of diplomatic relations. He said that 31 years of formal official ties were being observed. What began as connections between two ancient civilizations with long histories and a deep respect for one another’s traditions.

Amir Ohana also mentions that Jews have lived peacefully in India for thousands of years, and those Jews who came to Israel from India were a strong bridge between the two nations.

Since racism is not a recognized word in this country, it is one of the only countries on earth where Jews have been able to live in peace for thousands of years without any acknowledgement of the term.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed pleasure at establishing a Parliamentary Friendship Group for India in the Knesset while discussing the strong parliamentary ties between the two Parliaments.

Birla emphasized the need for both Parliaments to collaborate at international fora and, as a result, create an action plan based on group thinking and debate.

Om Birla further claimed that in order to handle global concerns and secure mutually beneficial outcomes, both Parliaments must share experiences, best practices, and technology.

According to Birla, the frequent high-level visits between the two nations throughout the years have given bilateral ties a fresh start.

He stressed that Israel is a global leader in agri-technology in the context of the technological superiority of India and Israel in several scientific sectors.

He added that individuals from all over the world want to imitate Israel’s technical advancement. Birla asserted that by working together, both countries might gain from technological progress and learn from one another.
