The first North East Aero-Sports Hot Air Balloons and Para-Motor Fiesta, 2023, was closed out by Chief Minister N Biren at Phubala. The Manipur Aero Sports Association (MASA) in conjunction with Khasia Ventures, the Tourism Department, and the Adventure Wing of the Indian Army provided technical support for the event, which was launched on February 11.
He complimented the Indian Army for providing technical assistance for the event and went on to emphasise how well-suited Manipur is for such adventurous sports. The Chief Minister noted the INA Headquarters in Moirang, the Sangai Ethnic Park, and the approaching G-20 activities in the State as examples of how Manipur is now developing as a popular tourism destination.
Also, he made a request to the residents who live near the roadway to extend a kind and customary welcome to the 50 foreign representatives who would be attending the G-20 summit.
He made an appeal for support from the populace in order to restore the priceless Loktak ecosystem and its adjacent wetlands. The lakefront will be crucial in increasing tourism to Loktak Lake and fostering ecotourism throughout the State, according to Biren.
He also emphasised the considerable measures the State Government has been doing for the restoration, total rejuvenation, and preservation of Loktak Lake and its surrounding wetlands.
According to LDA Chairman M Asnikumar, the LDA has been working furiously to protect Loktak using democratic procedures. Additionally, he urged the fishing and catchment area communities to join the government’s conservation initiatives in order to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM N Biren’s aim of restoring the world’s oceans to their former state.
The Sangai Ethnic Park at Moirang Khunou and the INA Headquarters Historic Site at Moirang were both inspected by the Chief Minister. The G-20 delegates, who will arrive in the State on Friday, will spend a lot of time in the park.
