Meet Dr Monika Manola: SpinOff Bulgaria’s Distinguished Moderator

A Non-Profit Organisation based on Science, Technology and Innovation called SpinOff Bulgaria is delighted to introduce its distinguished Moderator, Dr Monika Manolova, for “The Promise and Perils of Deep Tech: Ethical Considerations for Technological Progress”.

As per the Update, Dr Monika Manolova was the distinguished Moderator who will conduct an insightful session on International Corporate Telecommunication on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 14:30 – 15:10.

Dr. Monika Manolova brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with a strong background in database management, big data, and data analytics. 

She holds a PhD in geographic information systems (GIS) from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. She has played pivotal roles in several Horizon2020/HorizonEurope projects, spanning the entire project lifecycle from proposal development to successful implementation. 

Monika is a trusted innovations expert for the Digital National Alliance Bulgaria (DNA), contributing her expertise to drive technological advancements. 

She is also a Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRCCI) project expert. Monika’s passion for digital innovations in the agriculture segment led her to become a founding member of the Bulgarian European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH), focusing on AgroHub.BG. 

Furthermore, Monika is actively engaged in global initiatives that shape the future of technology and ethics. She is a dedicated member of the Stanford and IEEE initiative “Planet Positive 2030,” where she contributes to committees on Cities and Regions, Economics, and Global Methodologies as part of the editorial group. 

Monika also plays a vital role as a member of the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities (EIP SCC) working groups, including “Last Mile Solutions” and “Citizen Control of Personal Data.” 

In addition, Monika is a champion of the UN-backed Coalition for Digital Environmental Sustainability (CODES) and a leader of the Morality and Knowledge Artificial Intelligence (MKAI.org) UK Green AI Focus Group. 

She is a scientific advisor to MKAI UK and XRSI Europe and actively contributes to various international publications, projects, and initiatives focused on AI, Ethical AI, and XR (Extended Reality).
