New Covid-19 variant ‘NeoCov’ might cause high transmission & death rate, warns experts

On Friday, January 28,2022, Scientists from Wuhan of China has warned that a new variant of Covid-19 called NeoCov discovered in South Africa has a very high rate of transmission and could cause more deaths among people.

The reports also stated that the new virus is not new as it is associated with the virus that emerged in Middle Eastern countries in 2012 and 2015 called MERS-CoV. As per the experts, the virus has resembled with the SRAS-CoV-2 which is reason of Infection of the Covid-19 virus.

As per the new study published by the expert, the new virus of coronavirus called NeoCoV and many others such as PDF-2180-CoV could cause Infection among people.

However, the virus was firstly emerged among bats in South Africa and also spread widely among other animals.

As per the research from Wuhan University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Biophysics, people could be exposed to the virus with only mutation of the variant.

It also stated that it could be more dangerous as the novel coronavirus binds with the ACE2 receptor and causes Infection among people more than coronavirus pathogen. Hence, neither antibodies nor not protein molecules could be effective against NeoCoV.

Moreover, they also stated that the virus has the potential combination of MERS-high mortality rate and coronavirus” s high transmission rate.

Further, as per the stats of the Russian State Virology and Biotechnology Research Centre,” the vector sector knows about the data revealed by Chinese researchers. The issue is not to make the protocols related to Covid-19 most difficult.
