Prez Biden warns Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping for supporting Russia

The President of the U.S., Joe Biden, spoke with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, through a video call on Friday, as Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine. As per the White House, the call lasted just under two hours.
Mr Biden has mentioned the consequences the Chinese would face from the U.S. if they will provide any military or economic help for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. There was no sign he got any assurance in return.
As per the statement released by the Foreign Ministry of China, after nearly two hours of talks, deplored “conflict and confrontation” as “not in anyone’s interest,” but gave no blame to Russia and said nothing of next steps.
As per the White House press secretary Jen Psaki, “China has to make a decision for themselves, about where they want to stand and how they want the history books to look at them and view their actions.”
She refused to provide detail about the possible consequences President Biden has specified to Chinese president Xi Jinping if his nation will going to support Russia in the invasion of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, in an address after the leader’s call, a senior administration official said that President Biden pointed to the economic isolation that Russia has faced, including economy-battering sanctions and major Western corporations suspending operations, as he sought to underscore costs that China might suffer.
As per the tweet of Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying, President Xi Jinping told President Biden that the Ukrainian crisis is not something we want to see.”
The readout further said, “Countries should not come to the point of meeting on the battlefield.”
As per Hua, President Xi said, “Conflict & confrontation are not in anyone’s interest. Peace &  security are what the international community should treasure the most.”
It is the second high-level bilateral discussion between the two nations this week.
