Saint Lucia: Deputy PM announces MSME Loan-Grant Cheque Award to first six recipients

Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information Ernest Hilare announced the Inaugural MSME Loan-Grant Cheque Award to its first six recipients, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce on Monday, April 24, 2023.

Saint Lucian Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire, who has also been serving as the Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information, reached out to his social media platform on Monday, April 24, 2023, announced the Inaugural Micro Small Medium Enterprise, MSME Loan-Grant Cheque Award Programme, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce on Monday, April 24, 2023.

The Deputy Prime Minister also shared some glimpses from the Award program on his social media handle and highlighted some crucial points about MSME Loan-Grant Award.

Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire shared that the Inaugral MSME Loan-Grant Cheque was awarded to its first six recipients on Monday, April 24, 2023. The Deputy Prime Miniter highlighted the MSME-Loan Grant Programme’s importance to Saint Lucians.

He shared that this programme promises to support a crucial sector of the economy, the micro and small businesses. The Government of Saint Lucia is also constantly supporting the local communities of Saint Lucia through its various agencies and ministries by granting funds and loans to small-scale businesses and entrepreneurs in Saint Lucia.

The Micro Small Medium Enterprise MSME Loan-Grant Cheque Award is a Loan-Granting facility that started on March 20, 2023. The MSME Loan Grant is a EC$10 million-dollar facility that provides post-COVID-19 pandemic relief to registered MSMEs. MSME combines 70% grant and 30% loan funding at an attractive interest rate of 3% with minimum collateral requirements.

The MSME Loan Grant facility of 2023 only grants loans to eligible and deserving people of Saint Lucia. The government of Saint Lucia grants the small-scale businesses and Communities of Saint Lucia to start their business and expand through consistent efforts and hard work; this programme has been set up to provide betterment to the Caribbeans and improvise the Economy sector of Saint Lucia.
