The Embassy of Ukraine in Canada is delighted to announce one of the most prestigious film reviews in America and the world, the ongoing 48th Toronto International Film Festival in Canada’s largest city, from Thursday, September 7, 2023, to Sunday, September 17, 2023.
As per the Update, This year, at the Toronto International Film Festival 2023, Ukraine is represented by a national stand, which presents a catalogue of Ukrainian films and production companies in Ukraine to cooperate with even during the war.
The program of the TIFF also includes the screening of documentaries created in co-production with Ukraine.
The TIFF Docs competition program will host the North American premiere of «In the Rearview», directed by Macek Hamela. The film premised in the Cannes ACID programme and won top prizes at Warsaw’s Docs Against Gravity and Sheffield DocFest. The documentary is an expansive road trip through the Russian Aggression that drove more than one-third of Ukraine’s population in search of safer homes.
As per the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada, The TIFF offers three film screenings on September 12, 14 and 16.

On August 8 at «TIFF Bell Lightbox Cinema» as part of the TIFF film market, an event dedicated to presenting the film «Bucha» was held. The producer and screenwriter Oleksandr Shchur discussed the film, the filming process, and plans and answered the audience’s questions.
